with friends like these, who needs enemies?
THIS. This is what my so-called friends Bikini and Hamster did when I was gone for the night yesterday! They put it on MY door and the c3 toilet door. 'Ello??!!!!! When I said prank people, i meant
"let's prank people who deserve it like J***** and K**"
NOT
"PRANK ME PLEEEEEEEASE!"
It's pretty funny la..give it to you all. But how to fight one versus two I ask you? How?? I blame being sick last week from tues to fri. It gave them the chance to PLOT as temp roomies.
I Love My Friends. Totally. (should make a t-shirt that says this)

all my exes live in texasOk ignore the random title. But the song is ringing in my head with YP's annoying voice with it :DAnyway, i was really thinking wouldnt life be easier if we can just do a little irritating thing to someone who irritates the life out of us. Say, anonymously? Or maybe to his/her face if you have the guts. No major harm done. Nothing catastrophic. The person doesnt even have to cry. Because I dont know..just because? haha.Hamster, Bikini and I were thinking of bazaar sales and powder puff fans and the like. A bit grand scale but if anyone needs a prankster for hire, you know who to call :)In a diabolical mood *impish grin* But oh it's just a random thought.

IBM and the Holocaust
yesterday I watched this docu: THE CORPORATION for one of my pol sci modules. It was classic Michael Moore style ( they even featured him la!) with its fair share of inane moments but enough substance to keep you thinking.
The IBM, an American-based company that has grown into a large MNC today, was in cahoots with the Nazi govt. How so? No computers during that era what. Well IBM started out as International Business Machines Co. so it was actually supplying punchcards machines to the Nazi govt for their concentration camps where each prisoner was given a punch card for their daily rations. What's even worse is that these punch cards had numbers in them that each prisoner thought was merely a serial number given to them. The Nazis had more diabolical plans as each digit represented the prisoner's data; such as if they were Jewish, homos, pol dissidents, to be repatriated, to be gassed, to be tortured...
and IBM New York HQ was dealing directly with the Nazi regime- helping in this mass genocide? hmmm...talk about blood money; this is major shit man.
Other shocking expose about the corporation world are things like the cover-ups and sweatshops..disturbing. I used to think that activists who protest at global conferences on trade dont know a good thing when they see it and are mostly junkie-loving hippies. This docu changed my mind. Trade isnt everything. Profits arent everything. I always wanted to work for the private sector. Then I saw the hypocrisy of them preaching social responsibility by helping in housing development and then turning their backs on the people of the ghetto and going to Congress to demand for tax cuts for the wealthy at the expense of the poor. I wanted to graduate and go into a public relations firm. Then I saw how one established firm made use of its research to help its customers manipulate children to get their parents to buy more and more stuff for them. Is that ethical? The PR officer interviewed shrugged and said something along the lines that it breeds consumerism which funds the economy.
I think I would be more careful about who I am working for in the future. And for now, more aware of what I'm purchasing. Because the corporations dont want us to just buy a product, they are pushing a lifestyle and at the expense of others who arent compensated in any way. THINK BEFORE I BUY.

testimonyI've been teaching sunday school for roughly half a year and it's with sec 2 kids who are a challenge, albeit in a good way, to teach and guide. On sunday, Yiwen and I were discussing about how better to communicate with some of them and to ensure that they understand what we are covering in our topical studies book. And really what better way to help them understand one topic(sounds so syllabus-y when it's put like that eh?) that ought to resound in every Christian heart-- evangelism.
And what better way than through a testimony of one of their own peers? :)
Jeremy asked me a couple of nights ago if he could share a testimony to the class. So he shared it to me first...
His uncle's friend and family members were initially non believers until a major event that brought about much sadness. Their little daughter, 7 years of age, attended church with their neighbours and came to accept Christ as her saviour. One day, probably realizing the full impact of what it means to be unsaved; she told her parents this: if i should die, i wont be seeing you all in heaven. A few days later she had a headache, consumed a panadol and despite no known allergies, passed away. Her family- parents and Buddhist grandparents- were struck deeply by the timeliness of what she said earlier. Perhaps they felt if there really is such a God who declares himself Saviour of the world; why did He take away such an innocent life? I'm glad though that they didnt allow themselves(or rather God didnt allow them) to wallow in such thinking. They all came to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
Oftentimes people ask why tell people they will perish when it's going to spark off so much anger in them and turn them hostile to the message? But i believe that God used the innocence of the child; moved to speak such words that were harsh to the ears yet were spot-on and struck close to home. I'll stop here and let the testimony bear witness for God :)
He is so good.
