Mak's birthday party

from L-R: me, Ow, Yenny, Seehwei mommy, pretty birthday girl, dear Nadia and Robs "shotgun" Teo
It was such a nice Saturday night catching up with old friends. Mak had to entertain her hoards of friends from everywhere else but we 6 did well ourselves. Ow has become an honorary member of 04a51 cos he knows so many of them.
And even on flirting terms with Bikini.
But seriously, I was really psyched to see my friends again. And just chill and catch up. I dont like everyone from a51 but I do love the guys above...They made school tolerable and amazingly enough, we've all become better friends after leaving school and moving on in life. Cheers to ya'll.
PS. I now have another bout of cold. What is wrong with my immune system? Hate sore throats. Beh.

I want a heart-shaped patch on my puppy too. Crosby, don't be jealous!
Em and I don't have work tomorrow. Whoo. But today I feel abit bad cos i kept scolding her for making me log out of the comp and then the system was weird and didnt let us in again. Shall buy her a drink later/fruits. I think I'm just cold from having my legs drenched in the rain and hence, in a weird mood.
Ok enough of blogging like I'm talking to myself. Virginia Woolf has her style of stream of consciousness but Elaine isn't a literary genius.

a little about transformers and the child star who is all grown upOk so I'm finally going to do a review after watching a movie that I thought was great.
TRANSFORMERS is the best summer flick of all the 2000s thus far. Superlative; but gotta trust me on that. Remember when Independence Day and Armageddon came out in 1996 and 1998? The sense of awe and feeling of doom...we've hardly had that since. Transformers brings it out again with nary a mistake. Except for the shallow characters and slightly lame plot diversions (which I wont give away).
But I went to watch an action film and I really was astounded by the perfect action scenes. So visionary. Starscream leaving earth. Blackout infiltrating and destroying a US army base. The first time Bumblebee transforms. The city scene. Ow was like whoa-ing all the way. Me, not being a fangirl, was pretty stoked too.
For me the best part of the show was that it all started out with the premise of a boy bonding with his first car- the Chevrolet Camaro that Bumblebee disguised himself as. Using the car to chase the girl he likes. And this part of the show was pretty in the cinematic colours used. I wanna learn more about it! It's so interesting that you can paint a film and make it gorgeous like 300 or Sin City. I'm not an expert but I really liked how bronzed and dusty things and people looked in Transformers..making it feel so summery and raw. It reminded me of Armageddon which I hated when I first watched it as a kid but grew to enjoy. Nostalgia.
And then of course it helped that Shia Labeouf has gotten hotter since I last watched him on Disney Channel's Even Stevens. I loved that series..Jo and I used to watch it almost everyday. So even more nostalgia.
He used to be goofy cute with the wackiest facial expressions:

hahaha. Priceless.
Then, he cut his hair, grew buffer, taller. But he still has the little lostboy face sometimes:

Awww man, where has Louis Stevens gone? It's not a bad thing but I kinda miss my after school routine of watching his spastic antics. I'm also looking forward to Indy Jones 4 so that I can continue to check him out. Keep growing! But dont take your shirt off! I want my childish and innocent image of you to remain. Haha.

g(r)o(w)ing pains
Ng's off to Melbourne for a year. She's met Holes and Lingyi already. So fast! PL's a little colony there. I miss us. I miss how easy it was to quarrel and make up; how we used to do the funniest and in-jokes stuff; how we used to walk up to play Sims at my place, tuition at yours. I miss you Ng...even before you went off to Melb.
Even though we've drifted apart, but I can't stress enough about how you still hold that special place in my heart. That night when we walked back together to our houses, i was soooooo wishing that time would stand still.
Me too, Rachel. Preoccupied as we were with different things on our minds...I felt the way you did too.
Friends forever and ever. It's not cliched! :) :)

A typical 7 day week reads like that
Monday : work, dance
Tuesday: work, dance
Wednesday:work, home/dinner with a friend I care about but only meet sporadically
Thursday: work, home/THE OC
Friday: work, out with Ow/ above mentioned friend-type
Saturday: dance, crashout from sheer tiredness, drag my butt out of bed for some Ow family time/ my own family time
Sunday: church, household chores, Ow time/family time
It's routine... it makes me hanker for workless days when I can have more time to meet friends instead of squeezing them in.
It's just the monday blues.
I should be thankful for Emily as my good pal, churchmate and colleague here. And for the really nice weekend (even dance was good). Cafe del mar, thai food, andersen's, carnival, ferris wheel... So I'm thankful! Yes. And I'm blessed with parents who are cool with everything I do.
And this week will look up once I pass Monday. It's Ng week because she's leaving :( but at least we get to meet up with Larissa and then with our sunday school class! :) So, optimism, optimism..brighter side of life *insert rainbow*
