that cherry was popped so wrongI HAVE ENOUGH OF JAPANESE ANCIENT HOMOEROTICISM!
It was entertaining at first- researching sexual minorities in Japan for the project. But after the 10th haiku on
nanshouku and young nightingales on mountain temple (it's supposed to be homoerotic..yucks even the word is so distasteful), I was about to upchuck.
Still have 2 more months to endure before the final submission of the 4000 word essay. I so cheekily suggested this topic to the group and therefore, I did bring this upon myself.
Ploughing through journals of mournful dirges of love and double suicides;
and old monks and acolytes getting freaky deeky with each other
...I feel so icky.
Ooh look my own anti-homoeroticism haiku!
that's what I go to school for/even though it's a real boreI have noticed a recent common conversation pattern with friends (and most of the friends I make regular contact with are uni mates..new or old. Sad life that is 4 and a half day week for an Arts student). About 5-10 mins of every thing we say revolves around...
Freshies.
We kinda maybe hate them? They make the most empty noises in tutorials. Giggle loudly in toilet queues. Hang out with their OGs as if they are their oxygen tanks. But don't worry, the freshmen among you. One day you get to diss them freshblood too :) It's a natural cycle. I think upperclass men used to sneer at us too.
Point 2. (since when did this become a point form post? o.o)
The greek system in US is sorta like the hall system in Singapore! But they party more and have more traditions. And less dyed hair and flipflops. Robin said I'm a white Chinese girl. Maybe that's why I didnt get hall life much? And maybe if I'm in the sisterhood, I'll be a sorority girl for life man! Highly unlikely though. What are the chances there will be sororities and frats here in NUS? These institutions are notorious. ST yearly customary article on (OH HORRORS) perverted orientation camps will seem like innocent happy games, compared to the hazing and initiations of pledges in the greek system. But honestly, the ST is recycling old stories which were once the stronghold of our beloved tabloid The New Paper. Get over it people. Nothing to see here. Actually I think I'm really an un-sorority girl at heart. Too many compromising situations *sits haughtily on my moral high horse* But gosh, I wanna be lavaliered by a Nate Archibald look-a-like! (Please wiki the word before you think it's some naughty term. It's actually pretty romantic).
Point 3.
School Bazaars = Online shops sales with slashed prices = CP stash
A couple of weeks ago, Kandy and I confirmed what I've suspected all along. Online stores stock stuff from a not so secret secretplace. Anyway it's our happy place. Only girlfriends who matter have gone there with me to buy to our little hearts' content. Aiyo I sound so Mean Girls. Aiya it's City Plaza la. Or alternatively, one can wait for the forum bazaars. They sell the stuff cheap too but not every item.
Point 4.
Engineering to Arts. Is actually very far. It's even worse to KR terminal. I end lecture at 545pm. Take my own sweet time to buy snacks and go toilet. Go to terminal. Ow arrives at 630ish. Shuttle buses are always packed at that time. And by then I've missed 2 buses. So we've decided to have dinners in school to fill our tummies for the journey home. Which is actually kinda nice but darn, crusing in the west is tiring! I can't believe I use to wake up at 6 for school in the east and reach home at 9 after daidee and all that.
I'm sure there are more idiosyncratic stuff I can think about school but I'm going to let it rest. Life's too short to dwell on petty issues. But by golly! Uni is so strange sometimes.
